Here's what Debra has to say about Spiritual Nonfiction II:We all start things that we don’t finish. We lose interest, doubt ourselves, let other projects take priority, or simply don't have the tools to complete it. But if you've started a book, you did it because you felt a creative urge you couldn’t ignore. Your soul had something to say. A message to share. A passion to express. And I’m guessing that passion is still there. It just needs to be re-ignited.
I'll help you overcome any obstacles.
Here are a few of the things that may stand in your way of completing your book:
You need a new burst of energy. You started your book with clarity and passion, and you wrote all or part of a first draft. But then your energy reserves went dry. I’ll help you get in touch with your own inner voice so you can renew the passion you had at the beginning.
You doubt yourself and your message. You look at what you’ve written and think, “Who will want to read this? Maybe I don’t have what it takes to write a book.” These are common fears and self-doubts. I’ll show you how to claim your role as a spiritual messenger. You don’t have the tools you need. It takes energy and persistence to keep going when you don’t know where you’re headed or how to get there. I’ll give you step-by-step directions so you’ll feel confident as you finish your book.
- You want to change people's lives with your wisdom and expertise.
- You have an important message to share.
- You’re ready to finish your book now.
- You want to build your writing skills.
- You want to build a spiritual practice that’s deeper and more intentional so you can listen and co-create with your guidance.
I don't want to just help you write your best book. I want to help you move into a bigger space within yourself...to know the power that's within you.
- You can change the world with your message.
- There are people waiting for the book only you can write.
- Say Yes to Spirit. The time is now.
What is spiritual nonfiction?
It's the type of book you most likely love to read. Stories about people who overcame obstacles. Insights about life lessons. Ways to do something better, whether it's meditate, journal, or forgive.
Spiritual nonfiction books cover a wide spectrum of topics and approaches. In general, though, they inspire or teach readers using a spiritual, religious or inner-growth theme.
Often they're about personal transformation, drawing on a belief in something greater than yourself.
They can be visionary, metaphysical or religious, and they can talk about mind/body/spirit, personal development and self-help.
That’s one of the exciting things about this category of books, because it’s broad enough to embrace your specific experiences or message.
Nonfiction spiritual books include memoir, self-help, workbooks, how-to, interviews with people who have overcome challenges, essays, and much more. If your book helps readers grow or learn something important about their inner self, it’s probably spiritual nonfiction.
Module 1 will remind you why you started writing your book and bring back the passion you had from the beginning. With the help of your spiritual guidance, you’ll take a look back at what you’ve written and see how you can build on it to finish your book.
Module 2 will give you specific information to make your type of book the strongest it can be. For instance, if you’re writing a memoir, you’ll learn tips to make the story convey your life lessons. And if you’re writing a how-to, you’ll see how to add anecdotes and examples, making it more reader friendly and adding the spiritual or inspirational value that will make the book a must-read.
Module 3 will help you generate the additional stories and information you need to flesh out your book and make it complete. By tuning into your spiritual guidance, you can get direction on what your book needs to make it complete and reach your audience.
Module 4 is all about developing your authentic voice. Who are you as a spiritual messenger? Who are you becoming as you write? Through your own inner work, you’ll learn how to make your writing more honest and engaging so you can connect with readers soul to soul.
Module 5 is filled with writing and organizational skill builders to take your book to the next level. How do you convey the meaning in a story? How do you use bullet points and subheads to clearly present your message? These nuts and bolts will not only make your book easier to read, they'll buld your confidence as an expert and teacher.
Module 6 is all about polishing your work. It includes a checklist to help you revise your writing and make sure you’ve included everything you need in your book. It will help you find trusted readers to give you valuable feedback. And it includes simple ways to honor yourself, your guidance and what you've created together.
- Module 7 explains the different publishing options so you can decide whether to look for an agent and publisher or to self publish. You’ll learn how to write a book proposal and query letter, and I’ll walk you through the essential steps toward publishing. With the help of your inner guidance, you'll be prepared to take your book out into the world.

So let me ask you two questions:
First, on a scale of 1 to 10, how important to you is it to write your book before you die, with 1 being not so important and 10 being one of the most important accomplishments of your life?
Second, on a scale of 1 to 10, how confident are you that you’ll write the book on your own, without help, with 1 being certain it won’t happen, and 10 being totally confident that you’ll get it done?
Now look at the numbers. They’ll make the decision for you.
If you answered anywhere from a 7 to a 10 on the first question, and less than a 6 on the second question, it should tell you something important. Writing a book is one of your biggest goals, but you need help to get it done.
Signing up for this course will help make your dream come true.
